Position Title: Empresas Coach and Training Specialist

Reports to: Empresas Program Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Adelante Mujeres is looking for an Empresas Coach and Training Specialist to be a creative, hands on, entrepreneurial collaborator of our Empresas Business Development Program. The Empresas Coach and Training Specialist will support aspiring and existing Latino small business owners with bilingual customized coaching, technical assistance, training, access to capital, networking opportunities and other resources. The ideal candidate will be inspired by and fully committed to the Adelante Mujeres’ vision and mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical assistance, one on one coaching, and support to Latino businesses in all aspects of business growth
  • Develop, coordinate, and present business courses, specialty workshops, and financial literacy sessions to Latino aspiring and existing business owners
  • Assist business owners in obtaining certifications, insurances, and other compliance documents required to doing business in the State of Oregon
  • Assist business owners with access to capital, including Individual Development Accounts (IDA- serve as liaison with CASA of Oregon) and Crowdlending (Kivazip)
  • Manage commercial kitchen access program to include client support, scheduling, on-site management and partnerships
  • Network and develop access to market outlets and other partnerships for Latino businesses
  • Recruit and retain Empresas Network Members
  • Support marketing and outreach efforts
  • Track business skill development and other business needs using internal database platform
  • Develop and maintain a network of community members and contacts who have knowledge, experience and information on small business topics
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, forms, documents and translations related to the program
  • Assist with supervision of interns and volunteers when applicable
  • Attend local and regional conferences, meetings, and events relevant to the position
  • Participate actively on and collaborate with other Microenterprise program staff

Required Education and Experience

  • Bilingual - English and Spanish - must be fluent in both
  • Education - AA or BA in business management, entrepreneurship, marketing, or related field
  • Minimum two years of business experience and familiarity coaching low-income and Spanish speaking populations
  • Proven ability to be flexible, independently manage time, balance and prioritize simultaneous assignments and meet tight deadlines under limited supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated cultural competency; ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally for site visits, meetings, and conferences
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and knowledge of computer programs such as

Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 and social media platforms

  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed by program
  • Demonstrated understanding of Latino community, social justice, and equity
  • Commitment to Adelante Mujeres’ mission and vision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in entrepreneurship, small business development, and advocacy
  • Demonstrated understanding of the quadruple bottom line: people, planet, profit and purpose
  • Experience in teaching and facilitating
  • Knowledge of Washington County and Portland geographic and community base

SALARY/BENEFITS

  • $40,000- $45,000 depending on experience
  • Full- time, exempt position
